CJ Roberts Work in Progress (WIP)

My Dearest Readers,
I know many of you have been wondering what I am working on, when it will be out, and if Agent Reed from Seduced in the Dark will be making an appearance. I finally feel confident enough to supply you with answers to these questions.

I'll begin by letting you know that I WILL NOT be publishing the Agent Reed spin-off this year. The fact of the matter is - I'm just not feeling it. I was, at one point, but life has a way of throwing you off course once you engage the cruise control. I realize many of you, including myself, are very disappointed by this news. However, my writing process is organic - I don't outline, I don't 'set things in stone' - I have to feel the material. I never know what I'm going to write when I sit down in front of my laptop and when I try to force it...I don't like what comes out. That said, I won't say there will never be an Agent Reed book - I'm saying he'll be worth the wait once he gets off his ass and into my dreams.

So what am I working on and when will it be out? Well, I'm working on a different kind of book. For over a year I have had an idea to write a novel about a married woman contemplating the murder of her husband.

Writing Contest: Dark Duet Fan Fiction

As I posted on Facebook, I am a huge fanfic fan (that's right mofo's, I'm a fan of the fans. That's like, Fangirl Level: Ultimate Shit). Before you ask, no, I haven't written any (that I would post online, lol). I love fan fiction for a number of reasons, but mostly because it allows the fans to continue a story they love and share it with people who love it just as much. I started reading fanfic in the 90's after the original 90210 went off the air (I'm dating myself and I don't care!). Today, you can find me cruising the Wincest boards (mmmmmm, I <3 Sam/Dean).

Anyway, I have asked TotallyBooked, Aestas BookBlog, Literati Literature Lovers, and The Sub Club Books to help spread the word. Thanks ladies!

RULES: 

1. Contest runs 3/21/2014 - 5/1/2014. Winners will be announced 5/15/2014.
2. 18+ ONLY: Winners must provide proof of age/identity before being awarded any prizes.
3. Contest is open world-wide, but void where prohibited or where U.S laws prevent.
4. All entries must be written in English.
5. Multiple entries are acceptable, but each person may only win one prize.
6. Entries must have a minimum of 1,000 words and a maximum of 10,000 (give or take a few hundred on the max end).
7. Stories MAY NOT include rape for titillation (dubcon is ok - email if you have questions) or pedophilia. 
8. All participants agree that entry into the contest implies consent for CJ Roberts, Neurotica Books LLC. to use participants entry for promotional reasons, including, but not limited to the addition of the work to any bonus materials for THE DARK DUET SERIES, in perpetuity. Participants name will be displayed prominently as the author of their own work.
9. It is expressly understood that participation in this contest is not to be construed to constitute a partnership between the participant and Neurotica Books LLC. nor shall the participant be deemed to be an employee of Neurotica Books LLC. Participant agrees to pay all taxes on prizes received where required.
10. CJ Roberts reserves the right alter any part of this contest without notice, except where no legal reason exists to withhold prizes from winners.
11. All participants must set up an account with Fanfiction.net and agree with their terms of service. This is where the stories will be posted. Their site auto-protects from copy/paste theft.
12. All participants must post the following at the top of each 'chapter' of their submission:

CATEGORIES:

1. It's all about the nookie: Heavy on sex and light on plot. Make us sweat!
2. In the family way: Caleb & Livvie & a baby.
3. Multiverse: Alternate universe (AU) fanfic. Everything is the same except for oooone little (big) thing.
4. Supernatural: AU with monsters etc.
5. Freestyle: Anything goes. 

PRIZES:

Grand Prize: 1) Editing, Cover, and Review services on an original manuscript. CJ Roberts will pay to have your original manuscript professionally edited and cover designed and provide you with a review along with a spotlight on her blog, Facebook, and Twitter. OR  any reasonable request made to CJ Roberts in lieu of editing, cover, and review services. 2)Inclusion of your Dark Duet fanfic in her bonus materials with links to your original work and/or website. 3) An autographed first edition of her upcoming Captive in the Dark graphic novel upon release. 

Runner Up: 1) An autographed first edition of her upcoming Captive in the Dark graphic novel upon release. 2) Inclusion of your Dark Duet fanfic in her bonus materials with links to your original work and/or website. 3) $50 gift card of your choosing.

Bronze: 1) $25 gift card of your choosing. 2) Autographed cover poster. 3) Inclusion of your Dark Duet fanfic in her bonus materials with links to your original work and/or website.

Readers will be asked to nominate their favorite fanfic's HERE. Votes count, but CJ Roberts has final say on winners.
